Diversity & Inclusion Policy In Full

Our key equality and diversity policies

We are firmly committed to meeting all expectations under the 2010 UK Equality Act and other relevant legislation.

  • We commit to avoiding any unjustified discrimination on the grounds of age, gender reassignment, disability, ethnicity, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, religion or belief, sex or gender, sexual orientation.
  • We aim to go beyond this and create an equitable environment for all our staff, volunteers and service users regardless of socioeconomic status, refugee status or any other characteristic.

Understanding

At the People's Charity, we respect different people’s lived experiences and the different points of view that arise from them.

  • B.A.M.E. network (Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic staff and volunteers)
  • Disability network (disabled staff and volunteers)
  • GEN network (Gender network for staff and volunteers)
  • LGBT+ network (lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgender and staff and volunteers identifying with other sexualities).

We also have a diversity and inclusion steering group which includes representatives from our board, senior leadership team and our diversity advisory group. This group holds the organisation to account for a continuous action plan to drive improvement and continuously adapt.
